We’re here to talk about berries, y’all.

Burgundy smears stain our hands and sidewalks as mulberries litter the city-streets of our beloved Burque.
Cherries (not technically a berry, we know, but bear with us) burst with deep magenta and the vibration of joy. Berries are rich in antioxidants and electrolytes to fulfill the body’s needs for nourishment.

They are beneficial for heart health and digestive regulation as well as balancing hormones and preventing cancerous cells from proliferating in the body.
Additionally, increased sun exposure (done in moderation) allows us to absorb higher amounts of nutrients.

Good stuff, eh?

One of our favourite berries, however, hails for more northerly climates – Bilberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus). Commonly found in European, Chinese medicine, and Pacific Northwestern herbalism, Bilberry is used to treat a multitude of ailments. It is, however, found to be most effective for circulation, blood sugar regulation, and inflammatory conditions. It is used as a treatment for many aspects of Diabetes – from blood sugar regulation, to increased circulation, to protecting vision in some more severe cases.

Artemisia Libations

Get you antioxidant boost, while hydrating yourself before your big day …

During those hot summer months we need something to sustain ourselves during our busy lives, but often we want it light, fast, and tasty. This blend contains berry powders high in antioxidants and nutrients to replenish the body, as well as spiralina powder (containing vitamins, minerals, and plant based protein) and chlorella powder (good for digestion, detoxification, and building immunity).  Throw in some chia seeds (did you know those suck up the water, become extremely hydrating, and help the body to retain electrolytes in these dry hot months?) and mix with your fresh berries and liquid to create a perfect morning energy booster for on the go.

  • 1-2 TBSP Super Smoothie Blend (Acai Berry Powder, Spiralina Powder, Chorella Powder, Chia Seeds, Bilberry Powder)
  • 1/4 c. Fresh Strawberries
  • 1/4 c. Fresh Blueberries
  • 1/8 c. Fresh Spinach
  • Water or Juice

Blend together until mixed and enjoy!
